Just Like WWII

From Climate Progress, via Tom Nelson:

Iā€™m watching Morning Joe on CNBC ā€” the joys of having a baby who wakes up at 6:30 am ā€” and a guy from Time magazine is discussing their major forthcoming cover story that has a picture of the soldiers raising the flag on Iwo Jima, but now they are raising a tree.

Kudos to Time for making the clear analogy to World War II ā€” that is the only way we are going to beat 450 ppm.

Just like WWII  — because it will cost trillions of dollars and left socialists in control of half the world?

  1. “a picture of the soldiers raising the flag on Iwo Jima”; that picture turned out to be as genuine as Global Warming.

  2. Again you give away that your disbelief of global warming is motivated much more by political fears than by science.

  3. we have already seen a multitude of negative consequences from government mitigation of global warming. Ethanol using up scarce water, farmland. Foods staples selling at record high prices. Deforestation of the “lungs” of the planet in Indonesia and Brazil. Food riots. Killing off of endangered species – such as orangutang to make room for palm oil plantations.

What has government ever accomplished, that you would invest faith in their ability to mitigate climate change (or any other issue they have applied their hand to)?
